Experts from Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People’s Republic of China (MOHURD) conducting research activities at Grünbau

      On November 12th, 2020, a research group, including Li Rusheng, chief engineer of MOHURD, inspected the development of the green buildings in Jinan. Later in the day, the group visited Grünbau factory. The roster is as following:Li Rusheng: head of this group, chief engineer of MOHURDNi Jiangbo, first-level inspector of the Standards and Quota Department of MOHURD;Liang Junqiang, deputy director of the Science and Technology and Industrial Development Center of MOHURD;Zhang Xiaoling: director of Beijing Kang-Ju Construction Parts Certification center;Lu Jie: Deputy Secretary General of General Office of Shandong Provincial People's Government;Wang Yuzhi: Director of the Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Shandong Province;Zhang Xiaohai: Deputy Director of the Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Shandong Province;Wang Jingwen, Deputy Mayor of Jinan Municipal People's Government;Chen Yong: Director of the Shandong Municipal Bureau of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.


      Grünbau chairman Zhao Li, general manager Li Lei, and chief engineer John extended warm greetings to the group. Li briefed the group on the company’s operation, construction planning and market potentials etc. General Manager Li Lei focused on the production of ICF panels and its involved technology and excited to show the company’s first panel produced in the plant. Chief engineer John demonstrated ICF panel’s installations. In order to have a better understanding of ICF formwork, they inspected the sample house being built.

      During the touring, Li pointed out that our passive ICF system uniquely enjoys the technical advantage of synchronization between thermal insulation and building structure. Besides, it does not change the structure of the building itself, and can save about 50% of concrete and 30% of steel bars. What’s more, it can render indoor temperature and humidity constant all year round, greatly improving living environment and indoor air quality. This ICF system can be widely applied to various residential and public buildings.


      With regard to Grünbau factory, there are solar panels installed on the roof, whose power generation data can be monitored anytime. While meeting the power demand of our entire factory, the excess electricity could be sent to the national grid. Grünbau will be the first international passive plant.


      Li Rusheng commented after checking the ICF panels. He praised the company that under the background of transformation and upgrading of traditional construction industry, Grünbau actively carry out international technological exchanges and introduce advanced construction technology ICFs which will absolutely bring lots of benefits to the construction of new countryside in China. ICF system should be greatly promoted locally and nationally. He also emphasized that in the future, Grünbau should further strengthen the standardization of ICF technology and construction procedures; in the final year of poverty alleviation, more consideration should be given to the economic cost of rural houses built by ICF system. Let people really live in houses that are energy-efficient, comfortable and economical.


      Zhang Xiaoling was fully supportive of Grünbau ICF and its auxiliary thermal bridge parts. She emphasized ICF can significantly reduce the construction cost and achieve insulation and structure at one shot, which is really worthy promoting in China. She also suggested that Grünbau should expand its production capacity to fully satisfy the market demand.
