On 5th, November, 2020, 19th China Housing Expo kicks off in Beijing. More than 300 companies participated in this event. Due to 2020 the closing year of the "13th Five-Year Plan" and a critical period of the transformation of new and old kinetic energy, tireless effort at all levels had been made. As the backbone of passive house industry, Grünbau Green Construction Technology Co., Ltd., the EPS ICF system exhibited had attracted lots of attention and wide recognition. 

    Government officials, including Zheng Deyan, who is a member of Standing Committee and deputy mayor of Jinan, Chen Yong, director of Jinan Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau, Zhang Xiaohai, deputy director of Shandong Provincial Housing and Urban-Rural Development Department, Zhang Xiaoling, director of Beijing Kang-Ju Construction Parts Certification Center; 

Grünbau Chairman Zhao Li introduced the ICF construction procedures, ICF panels and its specific applications in details. Besides, she noted that this kind of system avoids fossil fuel and could help keep indoor temperature and humidity constant all year round. ICF system, in addition to the ventilation will create a comfortable living environment for users.

    General Manager Li Lei answered questions on ICF market potential and its advantages in details. He said that the passive house has been relatively advanced in Europe and the United States compared to its development in China. On the basis of alignment with Chinese construction code, Grünbau improved this system to better serve Chinese construction industry. Chief Engineer John demonstrated ICF flooring system and invited guests standing on top of the panels to check its fantastic loading capability.

    The mayor Zheng Deyan pointed out that Jinan city has undertaken the strategic mission of transforming new and old kinetic energy given by the central government. Achieving "carbon neutrality" is the strategic goal. The ICF advocated by Grünbau can reduce carbon emissions during the whole life cycle of the buildings. Energy-saving passive buildings have largely become the internal driving force for the high-quality development of the city, and emerges as the foundation of transforming new and old kinetic energy and a core competitiveness of urban development, which is not only of positive significance for new houses construction, but also for the upgrading of old communities .

    Zhang Xiaohai said that the development of ultra-low energy buildings are the right road to realize the development of society, and even play a positive role in creating a green, low-carbon, recycling and sustainable lifestyle.     Zhang Xiaoling, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Division of the Science and Technology and Industrialization Development Center of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, took the model house at the Grünbau booth as an example to do in-depth illustration. Zhang emphasized that traditional buildings consuming large amount of resources, rough production styles, high labor costs, and lack of innovation render passive house the trend of future construction, which will also be in the interests of all parties. The ultra-energy-saving passive house is undoubtedly the right option in upgrading the China’s construction industry.
